Palak Tiwari is slowly carving her own identity in the entertainment industry, and with her latest series ‘Lukkhe’, the actor says she finally feels seen beyond the glamorous image attached to her. Recently, Palak spoke candidly about navigating industry stereotypes, constantly auditioning for opportunities, and why the box-office failure of ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’ never felt personal to her, as she believes the film was always associated primarily with Salman Khan.
Palak Tiwari wants to break her glamorous image with ‘Lukkhe’
With her latest series ‘Lukkhe’, in a recent interview with India Today, Palak says she finally got a chance to play a character that feels much closer to her real personality. The actor, who essays the role of Sanobar in the show, admitted that the glamorous image people see on social media is far removed from who she actually is in everyday life.“The girl presented on social media, I don’t think she even exists! I am just a sensor that people are using to sell their product,” she said. Palak further explained that she connected deeply with Sanobar because the role allowed her to portray emotional vulnerability and strong family values. “Over here, I get to be the closest version of me. Because in my day-to-day, I am somebody that cries, I am somebody that loves ferociously, I am somebody that fights for my family,” she shared.While playing the character came naturally to her, Palak admitted that convincing people she could fit such a role was the real challenge. “The challenge is to have somebody see me as Sanobar, which this team did. And I think that was half my work done. The rest was just to prove them right,” she said.The actor added that she often struggles with industry stereotypes, where actors are quickly boxed into certain kinds of roles based on their public image.
Palak reveals what mother Shweta Tiwari told her about acting
Palak also spoke about the guidance she received from her mother, actor Shweta Tiwari, before entering the entertainment industry. Despite experiencing personal struggles and hardships herself, Shweta never discouraged her daughter from pursuing acting. Instead, she made sure Palak understood the seriousness of the profession.“When I decided to be an actor, my mom was going through a very turbulent time in her personal life. And I saw first-hand the tribulations that sort of come with that,” Palak recalled. According to the actor, her mother taught her to deeply respect her work and never take opportunities for granted. “My mom always says work only comes to those who love and respect their work. And that is something I live by,” she added.
Palak says ‘Someone’s brother someone Ki Jaan’ was never her burden to carry
Addressing the failure of ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’, Palak explained why she never internalized the film’s box-office outcome. “The thing about ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’ was, all the credit goes to Salman Sir, it was tanking and that also went only on his shoulders,” she said. The actor further admitted that she never expected audiences to view the project as “her film” because Salman Khan remained the central face of the movie.“And if that film was a super hit, it would have been all him. At the end of the day, I think it’s very presumptuous of me to think that anyone would care about Palak Tiwari in a Salman Khan film. It was not my film to begin with,” she added.Palak concluded by saying that patience and auditions continue to shape her journey in the industry. The actor stressed that she has never avoided auditions and believes in earning every role through hard work. “But the trick, honestly, is to just keep auditioning. I have never been averse to auditioning. I love auditioning,” she shared. “You call me 20 times. I’ll be there 20 times in the same talk.
