BHOPAL: A rape case was registered at Ashoka Garden police station on Sunday against a 29-year-old data engineer, who has been arrested and sent to jail.Police said the accused, a resident of Ashoka Garden, allegedly raped a 24-year-old MBA student in Sept 2025 after calling her to his house and recording the act. The two had met during her elder brother’s wedding in June 2025 and later stayed in touch.The victim reportedly stopped communicating with him in Aug 2025 and blocked his number. He allegedly contacted her again, threatened suicide, and pressured her into meeting him. He is then accused of raping her and using the recorded video to blackmail and repeatedly exploit her.In March, he allegedly threatened and assaulted her after she refused to comply further.
