Vietnam’s President To Lam arrives in Bodh Gaya today for a significant two-day visit to India, aiming to bolster bilateral ties. Accompanied by a high-level delegation, his trip marks a decade of Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Authorities have implemented special traffic restrictions in Bodh Gaya to ensure security and smooth passage during this important visit.

Gaya: The President of Vietnam, To Lam, is scheduled to visit Bodh Gaya on Monday, as part of his two-day visit to India. The visit is being seen as a significant step in further strengthening ties between the two countries, which have expanded cooperation in trade, defence, connectivity, culture, and people-to-people exchanges over the past decade.According to a press release issued by the ministry of external affairs, President To Lam is visiting India on the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He would be accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising ministers, senior government officials and members of the Vietnamese business community. The visit coincides with the 10th anniversary of a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, established between the two countries during PM Modi’s visit to Vietnam in 2016.In view of the high-profile visit, the Gaya district administration has issued a special traffic advisory in Bodh Gaya and adjoining areas for Monday. The traffic restrictions will remain effective from 10am to 3pm to ensure smooth movement, law and order, and security arrangements during the high-profile visit.According to the traffic plan, movement of all types of vehicles will be completely prohibited on main roads leading to the Mahabodhi Mahavihara during the period. Vehicular movement on Gaya-Dobhi road from Gate no. 5, airport, Tekuna farm, Domuhan, Node-I towards the Mahavihara will remain completely suspended. Traffic will also be barred on the road from Node-I to Karmapa temple.To minimize inconvenience to commuters, an alternative route has been designated between Gaya and Bodh Gaya via Sikaria mor, Gulariyachak, Cherki and Sherghati route, officials said.
