'Congress misleading people by supporting govt in Tamil Nadu': PM Modi addresses rally in Bengaluru

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday took a swipe at Congress during his Bengaluru visit, accusing the party of misleading people over recent election results. Speaking at a massive public gathering in Bengaluru PM Modi said that Congress leaders were confusing people even as major political developments were taking place. “Congress’ ecosystem is such that even as developments were underway in Tamil Nadu, Congress leaders in Delhi were misleading people over the May 4 results. They claimed no government had been formed in Tamil Nadu, while in Kerala too, despite winning, they are unable to decide on leaders,” PM Modi said. The Prime Minister said recent election results across different states showed that the BJP and NDA were creating “a new chapter in history”. “Today, I have come to Bengaluru at a time when the country is discussing the election results. The NDA forming the government in Puducherry for the second consecutive time, the NDA forming the government in Assam for the third consecutive time, and the BJP receiving such massive blessings in Bengal for the first time, these are all significant developments. Just two weeks ago, in the panchayat and municipal elections in Gujarat, the BJP registered such a massive victory that the Gujarat BJP broke all previous records. Friends, all These developments are historic events that are creating a new chapter in history,” he said. PM Modi also spoke about the huge turnout at the Bengaluru event, saying it reflected BJP workers’ strength and discipline. “I have visited Karnataka many times. Sometimes, due to lack of time, I would just hold a small program at the airport and move ahead. Many events were organized even at the airport. But this is the first time such a massive program has been held at an airport,” he said. “Today, I can see a saffron sun rising from the land of Bengaluru. As a BJP worker, I know that only BJP workers can gather in such large numbers and in an organized manner so early in the morning for a programme. I am very grateful to all of you for coming here in such huge numbers,” PM Modi added.During his visit, PM Modi is set to inaugurate or lay the foundation stone for projects worth Rs 9,500 crore, covering roads, transportation and logistics, textiles, railways and fuel. He will also take part in a program dedicating Sindhu Hospital to the nation. For the public meeting, police made large security and traffic arrangements, deploying around 2,000 police personnel and 620 traffic policemen, along with specialized units, to manage security, law and order, and traffic.
