COIMBATORE: At least eight people died after a tourist van rolled down from the 13th hairpin bend on the Valparai ghat road in Coimbatore district on Friday evening.As many as 16 people from Kozhikode in Kerala went on a trip to Valparai. The accident happened when they were returning from Valparai. While they were descending on the ghat road, the driver lost control of the vehicle. The van rolled down from the 13th hairpin bend.Eight people died on the spot, and the others suffered severe injuries. Rescue operations were continuing. Details are awaited.
