This was the fallout edition of the show for the two-night WrestleMania 42 extravaganza, signaling the start of a new season in WWE. It saw the arrival of NXT stars on the main roster, some exciting matches, and the huge confrontation between cousins, Jacob Fatu and the new World Heavyweight Champion, Roman Reigns.
What happened in the opening segment of wwe raw (April 20)?
Oba Femi opened the show wearing a suit and strutting his way to the ring. He showed confidence one night after beating and seemingly retiring Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 42. Femi said, “The Ruler has arrived,” keeping it short before making his exit.
Rhea Ripley and IYO Sky vs. The Kabuki Warriors
The new WWE Women’s Champion, Rhea Ripley, teamed up with her close ally, IYO Sky, to square off against Asuka and Kairi Sane. The exciting tag team showdown ended with Ripley delivering a Riptide on Sane and Sky hitting the moonsault to score the win for her team.
Ethan Page vs. Je’Von Evans
Ethan Page was revealed to be the newest RAW superstar and squared off against Je’Von Evans. Both former NXT stars delivered a captivating bout. However, Rusev interfered but was taken out by a dive by Evans outside the ring. This cost him as Page blocked his double jump cutter and then hit a Twisted Grin to score the win. Rusev then began attacking Evans, which led to Penta arriving to make the save. However, he also fell prey to Rusev as Page decided to leave the scene.
Liv Morgan vs. Sol Ruca
Sol Ruca made her official debut on RAW, interrupting Liv Morgan’s title win address at WrestleMania 42. This led Adam Pearce to make a non-title match between them on the spot. Ruca delivered an exceptional performance against the new champion. However, her former partner, Zaria, appeared and shoved her into the ring post. As she entered the ring, Morgan hit the Oblivion to win the match. After that, Morgan was confronted by the former champion, Stephanie Vaquer, on the ramp.
Finn Balor vs. JD McDonagh
Finn Balor squared off against his former protege, JD McDonagh, in a huge singles bout. McDonagh managed to hold his own against Balor; however, he fell short as Balor hit the Coup de Grâce in the end to win. Following that, Dominik Mysterio attacked him, but Balor managed to overpower both stars.
Roman Reigns’ appearance
Roman Reigns came out with his cousins, The Usos, in the final segment of the show. Reigns said that he missed tagging with the duo, and both Jimmy and Jey acknowledged him as their Tribal Chief. Jacob Fatu then arrived to confront them. He said that he wanted everything Reigns had, including the World title, and would take it at WWE’s next PLE, Backlash. However, Reigns said that he should think it over and would see him next week on RAW.Also read: CM Punk makes hilarious gesture after losing heavyweight title to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 42
